Currently I have been wanting to watch P.S. I Love You so much, and so I have. I love that movie, it makes me laugh and it makes me cry (a lot!). If you haven't seen it, I suggest checking it out. Anyways, they ended the movie with such a fitting song, and so I've been listening to that frequently. It's called If I Ever Leave This World Alive by Flogging Molly. My sister really likes this band, and I never really liked them at all, so it's surprising how much I love this song, but I do. I really really love it. I have listened to it 50 times within a couple of days.
If I ever leave this world alive
I'll take on all the sadness
That I left behind
If I ever leave this world alive
The madness that you feel will soon subside
So in a word don't shed a tear
I'll be here when it all gets weird
If I ever leave this world alive
I found this next song while scrolling through Tumblr. I don't always stop and listen to songs that I don't know, but sometimes I'll take the time to listen, and I'm glad I did with this one. This is one of those bands where I've heard a few of their songs, and I like them, but I haven't listened to too many. But this song is so beautiful, I Want to Know Your Plans by Say Anything. According to SongMeanings.net, I have an alternate version of the song, but I like the lyrics more than the original.
I want to know your plans and how involved in them I am
When you leave for good this fall will I be forgiven
And if you want roses, I'll buy a bouquet
If that just won't cut it, well what can I say
You're what keeps me believing this world's not long dead
Strength in my bones and the words in my head
The last song that I'm doing for today is by a band that I love, and this song is on repeat whenever I'm in a not so happy mood. Yes, I like to wallow in my sadness. Maybe that's odd, maybe not, but either way it's what I do. This song just strikes a chord with me, I can relate to it very well. Isaac Brock, you are a genius! The World at Large by Modest Mouse is one of my favorites. It's high in my Top 25 Most Played on my iTunes. I can't choose a small section of lyrics to post from this song, so it'll be longer than usual, but enjoy it! These lyrics are gold. GOLD.
The days get shorter and the nights get cold
I like the autumn but this place is getting old
I like the autumn but this place is getting old
I pack up my belongings and I head for the coast
It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most
It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most
The days get longer and the nights smell green
I guess it's not surprising, but it's spring and I should leave
I guess it's not surprising, but it's spring and I should leave
I like songs about drifters, books about the same,
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane
Walked on off to another spot, I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want
Did I want love? Did I need to know?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?
The moths beat themselves to death against the lights, adding the breeze to the summer nights
Outside, water like air was great, I didn't know what I had that day
Walk a little farther to another plan, you said that you did, but you didn't understand
I know that starting over's not what life's about,
But my thoughts where so loud I couldn't hear in my mouth
But my thoughts where so loud I couldn't hear in my mouth
I didn't mean to end this post on a somber note, but it looks like that's what's happening.
You know those songs that you feel you could've written (not as well, of course) because it's how you feel exactly? Yeah, that song needed to be posted for that reason. I do hope everyone has a good day, my Spring Break has officially begun, so I have much to look forward to. :)
xoxo
